Presentation

The Congress of Multifinalial Registry and Territorial Management – COBRAC 2024 is a technical-scientific event, held since 1994 in Florianópolis by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), currently through the Post-Graduate Program Bachelor in Transport Engineering and Territorial Management – PPGTG, the Department of Civil Engineering and Group of Observation and Transformation of the Territory – GOTT.

The event has the support of professors and researchers from other sectors of UFSC and also from other institutions, being the same: Department of Geosciences of CFH and Department of Architecture and Urbanism of CTC of UFSC; University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC) Geoprocessing Laboratory (GeoLab); Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC); Federal University of Bahia (UFBA); Ministry of Cities; National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA); Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB); Municipal Department of Planning and Urban Intelligence of the city of Florianópolis.

The Congress is in its 16th edition, being held every two years. The 16th COBRAC has as its theme “The Multifinalitary Territorial Registry as a basis for Sustainable Development” and will take place from November 11 to 13 of this year, in a place to be defined, in Florianópolis/ SC.

The congress has in its programming the presentation of papers in oral and poster forms, round tables, panels and conferences. There are planned national and international speakers, who will discuss about current issues of registration in Brazil and in the world, in order to update knowledge of the participating public in the area of knowledge in which the event is framed, where the methods of surveys and management inherent to the multifinal territorial cadastre are fundamental for an effective regional and urban planning. Because it is a multidisciplinary event, it has the participation of students from different undergraduate and postgraduate courses (master’s and doctorate), teachers and professionals of public and private initiative from different countries. The expressive participation of the public has been fundamental to the sustainability of the event, which as mentioned earlier, has been held for 30 years.

For 2024 it is intended that COBRAC is again a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and show the recent advances in research and technological development in the areas related to CTM. At the same time, the event should provide and renew motivations for congressmen to continue developing their work, whatever their field of activity in society, contributing to the strengthening of cadastral culture.

COBRAC, throughout its trajectory, has contributed to the training of professionals and at the same time became a place for publications of works that discuss this theme on the national and international scene. The results of the debates allow the institutions that manage the registry, access to a critical view of different themes related to the administration of the territory. The congress has served as the basis for the main advances promoted in our country within the scope of the cadastre.

Seeking to maintain the pattern of previous events, the proposal of the Organizing Committee of COBRAC 2024 is to promote an event that provides an important exchange of experiences and knowledge, scientific knowledge of current demands and training of professionals to meet the needs of society.  In this sense, the program will have a structure for the congress to ensure the expected results.
